Compass - Original textile art, contemporary art, beaded and sequined embroidery

Compass - One of my original designs, never to be repeated, many hours have gone into the making of this piece being stitched, beaded, sequined and embroidered on to Japanese linen in a deep burgandy and displayed on a 5in hoop and is ready to hang, no need for a frame.
The bird motif is recessed giving the whole piece a 3D look, it has a very tactile quality.
The 4 compass points surround the image of a messenger bird, as seen through a decorative and ornate window, on a backdrop of stars.
All my designs are original and many begin in my sketchbook, as rough sketched ideas that I refine when I begin sewing, others are sewn as I sit at the machine, with a vague idea of what I want to create.
An imaginative design OOAK.
